The Cherry Creek neighborhood was purchased in the late 1800s by Edwin P. Harmon, and was originally known as the Town of Harmon.  In March of 1894 the town was annexed into Denver and is now known for its thriving shopping and dining district.

Cherry Creek includes a 16 city-block area with more than 320 galleries, boutiques, restaurants, salons and spas.  In addition to the annual Arts Festival, Fillmore Plaza hosts the Films on Fillmore event in the summer and the Cherry Creek Ice Rink in the winter.  Cherry Creek is also home to one of Denver’s most prestigious shopping center, The Cherry Creek Mall boasting over 160 shops.

The neighborhood gets its name from the Cherry Creek waterway which bisects the neighborhood and has a biking/jogging trail along its banks.  This is the ultimate walkable neighborhood with easy access to shops and restaurants within the neighborhood itself as well as a short walk to those located along 6th Avenue.  Downtown Denver is just a short drive down Speer Boulevard for easy commuting.

Development in the neighborhood has been wide-spread creating a variety of housing options including new townhomes, condos, duplexes and large single-family homes.  Some original bungalow and ranch structures have avoided demolition and remain standing but the majority of the housing stock is newer construction.
