The Cole neighborhood became part of the City of Denver in 1874 and is named after a Denver Public Schools superintendent from the early 1900’s, Carlos M. Cole, who was influential in developing junior high schools in the Denver community.
Cole is a mostly residential neighborhood with smaller lots and relatively affordable housing options. Its close proximity to I-25, I-70, Downtown Denver and City Park has made Cole an up-and-coming neighborhood attracting first-time home buyers as well as fix-and-flippers who have had increasing difficulty finding affordable options in the Whittier and City Park West neighborhoods to the south.
