The Observatory Park neighborhood, named after the Romanesque Chamberlin Observatory, is also often referred to as University Park due to its proximity to the University of Denver, positioned just outside of the neighborhood’s western boundary. This neighborhood is a top choice for homeowners who commute to Downtown Denver and DTC due to its close proximity to I-25 and a light-rail stop. Residents enjoy close proximity to the DU campus and an easier commute but a bit more upscale and quiet atmosphere than the neighboring University neighborhood.
The real estate in Observatory Park varies from small bungalows and old ranches to a mix of new modern and traditional mansion-sized single-family homes. In recent years, developers have been drawn to the neighborhood in response to large lots, relatively low land costs and high new home values.
