The Platt Park neighborhood is located just west of the University of Denver and just south of Washington Park. The neighborhood is home to the Old South Pearl Business District which is an 18 block corridor on Pearl Street that offers a plethora of small shops and trendy restaurants. Pearl Street also hosts annual street festivals, farmer’s markets, and even a Mother’s Day 5K. A light rail stop at Louisiana and Pearl makes the entire Metro Area easily accessible for Platt Park residents.
There are a variety of housing options in the Platt Park neighborhood from early 1900’s Craftsman-style Bungalows and Denver Squares to modern Duplexes and newer single-family homes. Developer interest in the neighborhood wanted a bit after the 2010 down-zoning which prevented the development of duplexes on the majority of blocks, but with the expense of buildable land in the nearby Washington Park neighborhood and the popularity of the Platt Park neighborhood, developers have started focusing on Platt Park again for high-end single-family home development and duplexes where permitted.
